About PACE research

• Fruit growers in the UK have, for many years, adjusted the label recommended dose-rates of orchard spraying products to make more cost-effective use of plant protection products on a wide range of orchard structures.
• PACE Research established a methodology to support the adjustment of the label recommended dose-rate based on the concept of maintaining efficacious deposit across a wide range of orchard structures.
• A leaflet describing the PACE methodology was published in 2005 by the UK Horticultural Development Council to help grower assess orchard structure and translate these into practical dose adjustments.
• The website was first developed in 2008 to replace the PACE leaflet and simplify the user experience. Subsequent developments of the website were based on further research and inputs from: growers, pesticide regulators and agrochemical manufacturers.
