Pesticide Adjustment to the Crop Environment (PACE)

• Many pesticide products, approved for fruit spraying in the UK, recommend a single dose-rate for orchard structures with different: tree-height, tree-width, tree-shape, planting-density, branch-density, foliar-density.
• However, orchard structure is very variable and fruit grower oftern adjust the applied dose-rate to improve pesticide use and/or mitigate the risk of environmental contamination.
• PACE methodology has been developed to help grower quantify the optimum dose adjustment for a wide range of orchard structures.
